Are Annuities becoming a good investment again?

In a short answer..YES....people are realizing that the guaranteed rates, and the competitive rates and the shorter maturities offered are more competitive for a fixed investment option than some Bank C.D.'s. Annuities today do not have to be used and/or thought of as the annuities of yesteryear. They still can provide a monthly retirement income, which a lot of people prefer. Or they can be used for investment purposes only, and they can be used to proved part of your retirement income as guaranteed income.
Annuities, if purchased from reputable companies, and reputable agents can provide a good investment return to help your overall portfolio with a guaranteed interest. Also there are annuities that offer a low guaranteed rate, but also can tie to the market returns (with caps) that can help those that don't want to be out of from the market completely.
Annuities do have fees and expenses, these are disclosed when you purchase one, so always check those. The fees for most A+ rated companies have become competitive in the market also. Like brokerage and/or transaction fees you are charged in the market..always compare fees and your lifestyle and your goals before any purchase.
AARP had an article helping to list concerns usually mentioned. https://www.aarp.org/money/retirement/annuity-concerns-problems/
There are a lot of questions when purchasing any investment, and we are happy to help with those decisions.
